Our Mission

Football for Life was formed in 2017 in response to
the epidemic of youth suicides on our Native
American Reservations. Our philosophy centers on
providing opportunities for youth to gain
development assets needed to succeed in school and
successfully transition to adulthood. In short,
imparting tools that encourage strategies to succeed
in LIFE! Realizing the positive impact of youth sports
in our development, we strive to insure Native youth
have the same opportunities. Our programs
emphasize team building, goal setting, accountability,
hard work, facing challenges, and resilience.
We have an exciting year planned!

  • Football for Life will be providing OneSight eye exams for Pine Ridge High School in collaboration with Walking Shield, Inc. from May 4th-8th.
  • A new Football for Life Camp is scheduled for May 14th-16th on the Fort Yuma/Quechen Indian Reservation at San Pasqual Valley High School.
  • This year’s Pine Ridge Camp will take place June 8th-10th at Pine Ridge High School and June 11th-13th at Chadron State Full Contact Camp.
  • A camp for Lummi Nation (WA) will take place July 6th-10th.
  • An additional camp is being planned for the month of August on the Soboba Reservation.
